SOCIAL CARE WORKERS & SUPPORT WORKERS
SEPARATED CHILDREN SEEKING INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION – RESIDENTIAL
SETTING
LOCATIONS: CAVAN - LOUTH - MEATH
Our positions may be suited to an individual looking to work in a busy
environment, supporting young peoples’ transition into a new life in
Ireland.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Promoting the rights and responsibilities of each young person
within the service
* Participating in the development and implementation of Care and
Placement Plans
* Promoting physical, emotional, social, educational, and religious
welfare of each child/young person
* Liaising with professionals in relation to the care of young
persons
* Adhering to policies and procedures
* Documentation and report writing
QUALIFICATIONS
SOCIAL CARE WORKER:
A degree level 7+ on the National Framework of Qualifications in one
of the following disciplines:
* Social care or Applied Social Studies
* Youth and Community
* BA(Hons) Youth and Community Development
* BA (Hons) Psychology
* Addiction Studies
* BA (Hons) counselling and Addiction Studies
* Disability Diploma (Primary Degree)
* Social Science
SUPPORT WORKER:
QQI relevant qualification - Level 6
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:
* Client focus, compassion and empathy are essential to the role
* Team work as well as flexibility and the ability to work off
one’s own initiative
* Ideally a commitment to 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts per week
( * hrs per shift)
* Other valued skillsets (not mandatory): full drivers license,
bilingual
